Before not yet all too long time there was violent annoyance in connection with Google's subsidiary YouTube and Viacom (see also: YouTube is to delete 100,000 videos), now seems the controversy again again to have been inflamed, this time however in form of a violent complaint.
The American medium company Viacom (among other things MTV) sues now Google before a district court in New York because of “solid copyright injuries”. With the damage suit it is to act around an amount of approximately a billion US Dollar.
Apart from the payment of damages Viacom wants to still reach to obtain an omission order for further offering of their video tie-clips. According to estimations on the part of Viacom 160,000 tie-clips are in the offer on YouTube, which were not released by Viacom.
Besides the complaint practices also criticism at YouTube's business model, which is based to use no preventive measures against copyright offences. According to Viacom now the court is to intervene, in order to prevent that the artists are continued to damage.
